Continued Possession -
Monsters Alphabet

In my daily work as a designer, I often need to print and test various artworks before sending them for production. However, this process generated a lot of waste in the form of paper cut-out frames. In an effort to reduce waste, I started collecting them. Over time, I began using them to create collages in an intuitive process, allowing the given shapes to guide me. As I played with the digitalised images of these collages, I started seeing faces in them. This inspired me to take the collages to the next level and create an alphabet of monsters, along with an abstract visual language. By re-contextualising the collages, I was able to turn them into objects in a new piece of work - for example, the eyes of a big monster.

To keep track of my creations, I started cataloguing them in a digital booklet. What once started as a way to reduce waste in my daily work as a designer, became a new form of creative expression that I could explore and develop further.
